Yes. Accommodations for visitors requiring accessible entrance and parking will find them located at our entrance. Parking spaces are reserved and designated.

Florida manatees frequent the Center year-round, but they are creatures living in the wild. There’s no telling when they’ll swim by! Manatee Center volunteers spot around 400 manatees a year.

Can you accommodate large groups?

Please call ahead to arrange your group visit, tour, or activity. We’d like to plan something special for you! Contact our Education Coordinator at (772) 429-6266 and choose option 3.

Does the Manatee Center have translators or bi-lingual audio guides?

Not at this time, but coming soon!

How long should I plan my visit?

We recommend 45 minutes to an hour to enjoy both indoor and outdoor features at the MC, but suggest allowing more time to walk along the waterfront, marina, and historic downtown district.

What should I wear on my visit?

Summer hours call for light, casual clothing to keep cool. Winter hours may require a windbreaker, sweater, or heavy jacket depending on the weather. Always wear comfortable, walkable shoes to enjoy all areas of the Manatee Center. Shirts and bathing suit cover-ups are appropriate if stopping by to visit after swimming or boating.

Smoking or vaping is not allowed in our indoor or outdoor exhibits and nature areas.

We do not allow pets inside the buildings. We do, however, allow trained service animals on site.
